About OAPA

Building fair, trusted, and open scholarly publishing.

The Open Access Publishing Association was founded in 2023 to support a better model for scholarly publishing: one that challenges pay-to-read and pay-to-publish systems and advances open access publishing that is credible, sustainable, and accessible.

Our mission

Safe, sustainable homes for open knowledge.

OAPA’s mission is to provide secure, sustainable, and academically credible locations for journals, conferences, learning programs, and other knowledge dissemination activities to grow.

We support open publishing infrastructure, editorial capability, peer review quality, discoverability, and long-term stewardship for scholarly communities that want to keep knowledge open.
