Membership through education

Get one year of OAPA membership with an Academy course.

OAPA Academy courses are designed to build practical capability in peer review and journal editing. Registration in either course includes one year of OAPA membership.

Special Interest Groups

Build focused communities within OAPA.

OAPA welcomes proposals for Special Interest Groups that align with its mission to advance fair and open knowledge. SIGs are established by members to support scholarly collaboration, capacity building, and dialogue in areas relevant to open access publishing, scholarly communication, and equitable research practices.

Who can join?

Membership in a SIG is open to current OAPA members with an interest in the group’s focus.

Funding available

Members may propose a new SIG with funding of up to AUD $1,000 per year to support core activities.

Expected activities

SIGs are expected to deliver at least two webinars or equivalent activities annually, report on progress, and contribute where possible to the OAPA newsletter.
