JUTLP periodically invites expressions of interest from experienced and emerging scholars to join our international Editorial Team.

Senior Editor – Academic Leadership and Management

JUTLP is currently seeking expressions of interest for the position of Senior Editor – Academic Leadership and Management.

We are looking for an experienced higher education scholar with expertise in academic leadership, management and/or governance and a strong understanding of how these areas intersect with university teaching, learning and educational practice.

The Senior Editor provides scholarly and editorial leadership for the Academic Leadership and Management section, working closely with the Editor-in-Chief, Deputy Editor, Associate Editors and wider international Editorial Team.

The role includes:

  • overseeing manuscripts allocated to the Academic Leadership and Management section;
  • supporting Associate Editors in managing peer review and developing editorial recommendations;
  • providing scholarly judgement on the scope, quality and contribution of submissions;
  • supporting rigorous, fair and timely editorial decision-making;
  • contributing to the development and strategic direction of the section;
  • identifying emerging areas of scholarship relevant to academic leadership and management; and
  • contributing to the collegial development of JUTLP’s international editorial community.

We particularly welcome expressions of interest from scholars with an established research profile relevant to academic leadership, educational leadership, higher education management, governance, institutional change or related areas, together with experience in scholarly publishing, reviewing and/or editorial work.

JUTLP welcomes applications from across the international higher education community and encourages diverse disciplinary, institutional and geographical perspectives.

Senior Editors provide scholarly and editorial leadership within their section, working with Associate Editors and the wider Editorial Team to support rigorous, timely and developmental editorial decision-making.
